It’s been perfect weather so far here. I have met some great people and continue to enjoy talking with both kids and adults , learning new things each day. Below are just a few pictures of some fun incounters.

A month of adventure in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Stay tuned for intermediate posts of this fantastic state’s Upper Peninsula. Service here is spotty so I won’t be posting but once a week or so. If you’ve never been,  you are missing out on some beautiful country.

This is such a super place to connect with local people and enjoy good food and cheap drinks. The music this week was fantastic! Beth and I had the pleasure to share our table with these 2 musicians while enjoying the burgers. What great stories they both had. The burgers on Friday nights are awesome as well. Hope to stop back in next time I’m in town. The campground out back is an additional bonus!

This is one of my favorite places to stay at in northern Michigan. I’ve stopped here for 5 years now and never regretted staying. Marianne is a fantastic host, always so  welcoming when I arrive. The grounds are immaculate. The 4 sites she offers are all secluded and well maintained. You also always meet amazing people. I was lucky enough to take some group pictures of a Bachelorette party. Great group of women celebrating their friend.

I haven’t been here in 30 years and I’m wondering WHY NOT? This is an amazing place.  So much to do for both Kids and Adults. They have added land and expanded their facilities soon much! There was not enough time to see everything, but I’m coming back soon.

With my sisters Kathy and Beth and cousin Dennie, we set out to celebrate my mom’s 95th birthday. Even though she’s in heaven, she was definitely with us as we enjoyed Lake Michigan.

You all know I’m Michigan born and raised,  so wanted to let everyone know about all these great festivals and farmer’s markets going on here!

I’m blessed my friend Brandy puts up with me staying with her year after year when I’m in Grand Rapids. Each year I try to help out with projects she got going on.  This year was getting her new pool clean and decorate around the yard. We had a blast. Some frustrations that we laughed off, smooth assembly on others. All in all, the place looks great!

It was great having extra time to visit a number of friends in the Rockford and Cascade area. Cheryl’s hospitality is always appreciated and she went above and beyond carting me all over to see friends. Thank you!
