This was a first time my friend Shelly and I were able to camp together. We had a great time catching up, enjoying dinner at the famous Boons Inn, meeting friends of Shelly’s in Leelanu and scored free tickets to Earth, Wind and Fire. This state park wasn’t my favorite due to the massive amount of sites but it was quite at night and had a lot of trees.

This was a fantastic place to hang out for the month of July. I met and reconnected with some of the nicest people. Had a great time creating a Rock snake with the kids as well as honing my own painting skills. If you get the opportunity to visit, do it. So much to do, explore, learn, fish, swim, kayak, relax.

This was a fun day starting with breakfast in Manistique with a girlfriend, then to Germfast to see a 16ft troll sculpture, and then stopped at a cool lighthouse before heading back for dinner and a cold beer.  Life is Good!

The historical society of Gulliver really stepped up to preserve this lighthouse and all the history here! Very well worth visiting and talking with the volunteers.

Another day of exploring the area. I’m blown away by how much history is here.

This was cool to visit and try to place names with those who worked in the town of Fayette. Thill family is the only one I recognized.
