I’ve been to this park before but it was predicted to be a cloudy, rainy day where I was, so took a short drive to enjoy it once again. Still as breathtaking as the 1st time here. I’m still looking forward to seeing this in the fall.
There’s a story that the dare devil below flew his plane between the towers. Yikes!!
This park was in the Allegheny national forest and continued the dry spell for connectivity. I had a great spot but rain each day it seemed. Also unless I wanted to be a mountain goat, trails were uphill. Kind of cool to be on the North County trail though.
Another park I missed posting about. Yikes!! Talk about heading into the mountains, this place was it. No electric sites, no water pumps on yet and not busy at all. The sites were well spaced but very open to each other. It helped that it wasn’t busy so it was quite peaceful. The Appalachian trail runs through this area and there were some backpackers seen on the trail. Beautiful river running along side the site and on the other side of the road in. Sweet music!
Nearby was Kent Falls state park with a beautiful waterfall and trails. Made for a nice change of pace being in the valley as well as in the mountains.
I missed posting about this stay in my timeline so am making up for the loss. I’ve stayed here before but in a different area about 2 miles away. It was me and about 5 other campers in this loop. Outstanding spot at the end of the road before it turns to another lane of spots. The sites are extremely well spaced out and designed for privacy. There’s great trails along the creek and throughout the park. Loved it!!
I was in Lower Lake camping area. At the end of the road.Along Little Falls trail View of the lake
I am blessed! There’s no way to describe how awesome it was to be at the end of the campground loop, next to a babbling brook with no one else close by. I recharged and relaxed.
This really did feel like the end of the world. I loved being tucked away in the mountains. Beautiful hikes that were a little challenging but doable. Lovely waterway and quite campground. Would definitely come back.
Emily was a delight to chat with and make sure I was well suited to the wines I wanted to try. There were only a few others here on this late afternoon so I was able to relax in the sunroom at the back and catch up on some posts. The 1st red was great but went down from there. Wondering if I had started with the less expensive wines I would have enjoyed them more.
However when the desert charcuterie tray was brought out, wow did things improve. I’m not normally into sweets but the dark chocolate was fantastic! Way more than I was able to sample but I brought the rest out to Pearl and have been nibbling since. I’ll have to add more pictures later when I have a better signal to upload photos.
This was a great Harvest Hosts location and I’m happy to have stayed here. Very quiet and safe.
My first Boondocks welcome stay; can’t say it was one of my best choices. I was under the impression I would be back off the road at the end of their driveway and because it was a private residence it would be quite and the only ‘traffic’ would be from them. Unfortunately it was quite busy with their woodworking shop and some contractors there. I was surprised because the reviews left were all great. The folks there were all very nice and I received a bluebird house to take with me.
Where I was told to park Parked on the side of the small red barn in previous pic. View out my front window
HOWEVER, the drive here was one if the best. Multiple state parks to check out, people to talk to about the trails and areas nearby. I loved it!
Old factory foundation The trail Loved exploring along this short drive!!
This was a Harvest Hosts location and I happened to be their first guest. What an amazing place they have created here. The Oasis greenhouse was overwhelming. I was given a tour of the farm here and all the plans they have going forward. Wish I had been able to see the Hydroponic greenhouse where my lettuces and cilantro came from. Would definitely come back for a stay.
I also climbed to the highest point in Rhode Island!! A whopping 812 feet! Lol!
It was so great to see Joni and Mike who I stayed with last fall in Nyack, NY. They have recently moved to Eastham, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. As a bonus Joni’s brother Dave(who I stayed with in Mesa, Az) was visiting as well.
I can’t begin to thank them enough for their hospitality and tour guides. We packed a lot into my time here as well as helping them get settled in their new home.
