This festival is a celebration of Charlevoix. So many different things to do and enjoy. This always comes with an incredible increase of tourists as well. I was able to enjoy the car show, shopping the local shops and walk along the marina to admire the “boats” docked here. Free music all day a into the night and fireworks to end the day.

It always amazes me how my faith in God and his plans for me affect my travels. I’m where it’s best for me to be this summer. My mom and sister have needed the extra help which I’m happy to help them out with. We’re grilling out and having some wonderful time together. And Pearl is getting some new storage containers.

Besides that, the weather out west is hotter than normal, fires are raging and Yellowstone has closures where I had planned to go.

I’m not sure if you all know what this means but the Elks are a benevolent organization that has been around for years. They support their local communities, veterans and special needs kids.

I was introduced to this organization while I was in Eastham, Massachusetts with friends who are members. When I arrived here, I was invited to join some friends for drinks at the local hall. What a beautiful facility and great people. I am able to go to any Elks throughout the USA. Some have camping availability and I will have a community of people for support. I also love the fact they give so much back to such great causes. It’s a win win as I see it.

Charlevoix is such an amazing place to spend the summer. I’m blessed to be here and able to help out my mom and sister. Just a few pictures of what we’ve been up to.

It’s been fun hanging out with mom and my sister Beth. Between relaxing at mom’s, fishing with Beth, enjoying a fire and fireworks. Like is good.

We also had a visit from a cousin from down state, fun catching up with her and her husband.

It is great staying in one place for a little while and have access to tools not in Pearl in order to make some improvements. Also fun to have help and support for them. So not only has the bathroom faucet been replaced but propane alarm monitor and an emergency handle for the back door.

I think all 3 of us tested the back door strap about 10 times and kept making small improvements till we were all happy.

And the propane alarm has not gone off yet so I think all is good!

Really can’t beat Charlevoix, Michigan in the summer. Especially when it can be shared with family. We’ve been having a great time playing in this beautiful town.

As you would expect, I am out and about with family exploring the area. There’s so many beautiful places around here to enjoy. It’s been great fun sharing this with my nephew’s family.

It was a beautiful day to gather with family to celebrate mom’s birthday. She wasn’t the only one who had a great time. I believe everyone had a great day.

We also created a mobile for Mom’s porch to remember each of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids by.

We celebrated early yesterday with Mom, friends and family. 92 years young…hope I got those genes!!

And she had a surprise from my brother Tom who flew in unexpectedly from Florida. Not only surprised mom but the rest of the family too.

We get to do this all again only bigger on the 19th her actual Birthday! And with a lot more food! Stay tuned 😉
