Hamburg SP in Georgia with family

This was park 1 of 3 that I camped at with family. It was great! We all took turns cooking and searching for things to explore! Needless to say, we succeeded! Hamburg is one of my favorite Georgia state parks. All sites are along the lake with spectacular sunrises! And we found a ancient rock effigy. I really need more time to explore this and read all the signage.

Whitetail Ridge COE campground near LaGrange, Georgia

This was a fantastic place to rest and recharge. Plus LaGrange has a lot of history, so cool places to explore outside of the campground. Hill and Dale estates being one of them. I spent a whole day here walking the 180 years old gardens. The 40 room house was impressive as well but no photos were allowed inside the house. The only snafu was the campground host on my last night thought I had forgotten all my stuff and came by and picked up all of it! You can imagine my surprise when I returned and seeing everything but my electric cord gone. Thank goodness, it was all at the check in booth.

Providence Canyon State Park, Georgia

I’m not really sure what town this is by but it was a short detour to stop by. I love hiking this canyon. I normally hike in from the Visitor center but this time, I opted to go in from the opposite side. I think it’s a nicer hike and I hit canyon 8 first. So overlooked as canyons 4 and 5 are the most spectacular. 6, 7 and 8 did not disappoint.

Cottenhill COE near Fort Gaines, Georgia

I know,  I was just here.  Lol! It was the most convenient place to start my travels and recharge myself. Beautiful campsite and bonus that wood was left for me. The only disappointment was seeing a gator swimming in front of my site. My neighbor said there was a bigger one under their boat. So, no inflated paddle board for me.

Cottenhill COE campground near Fort Gaines, Georgia

I had forgotten I had camped here before,  but when asked to join my brother and his lovely wife; I had to accept the invitation. It’s a beautiful campground with 3 distinct loops. We were in the 1st loops a little off the main river channel. Quite, shaded, huge camp sites. Nothing not to like.

It’s a short drive into Fort Gaines and an awesome museum and a pioneervillage. The museum is only open the 1st Saturday of the month so plan accordingly. It’s definitely worth it! I’ve been here before and I was glad T&T were up to exploring it with me.

Update on family time

First I want to thank everyone for the well wishes. I’m feeling much better. This week started with 5 pine trees being taken down in the family backyard. The same company was here doing their thing! And doing it well.  In and out in less then 8 hours.

And it was fun to see the 3 girls embrace Karate lessons!
