Traveling with my friend thru Michigan!

This has been the 1st time I’ve traveled with someone. We’re enjoying our time together and I love sharing the beauty of Michigan with her.

Starting in GR with our mutual friend Barbara, we’ve gone east to the tip of the Thumb all the way to the tip of the mitt. Just a few pictures of our adventures so far.

As we started our second day, we stopped at the Octagon barn, Sanilac petroglyphs and Harbor Beach before arriving at Oak park Beach in Port Austin.

Back to Grand Rapids, Mi

As I had to get a couple more appointments in, I had to return to GR for a few days. This gave me the opportunity to visit with a couple friends from WWW.

As an added bonus, picked up my friend Sam from Montreal. We’re going to travel around the lower peninsula of Michigan. Wait for the fun pictures to come.

Fun with Mom for her 93rd birthday celebration!

I’ve had a blast with my mom and sister celebrating mom’s 93rd birthday. Wish I still have this much gusto for life when I get this age.

There were other short day trips and rides. One memorable day was going to Mackinac City just for lunch.

Love you to the Moon and Back Mom!

Fun times with Friends

It’s always so much fun to catch up with friends in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Lake Hudson recreation area, Michigan

I’ve been here before and was looking forward to this being a designated Dark Sky park. However you don’t see as many stars with an almost full moon a clouds. It was extremely quite and the beach was beautiful. Thank goodness for such a great body of water as the temps were in the 90s both days.

The only concern was the raccoons who wanted to investigate. No issues, but I was very diligent keeping an eye on them.

As much as I wanted to avoid staying in a campground over Memorial weekend, I didn’t get quite west enough to stay with some cousins in lower Michigan. The campground was packed as expected. I had some very noisy neighbors on Friday but then things settled down after that. Still some noise but not as crazy as Friday. I guess everyone was excited to be camping.

What was also a blessing was the multiple loops and I wasn’t anywhere near the boat launch or this playground. Both were packed with people Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I know I’ve been spoiled to have campgrounds with very few people staying at them. With summer starting, I hope that continues.

I was happy to have some great fire majic as well!!

Shenango river COE near Transfer,PA

I have stayed here before and enjoyed the park as well as my neighbors (crappy (the fish) fish fry guys) and so was happy to be back. I didn’t have as nice of neighbors but it was still a great time. Very few people camping and lots of places to walk. Site 66 was perfect and I enjoyed a fire each night while watching the water. Life is good!

Bonus was watching this guy scamper around. Came up from the river in front of me twice. We were both taken by surprise!!
