Okay so I was Not expecting to stop so much or for such a long time and I wish I had planned better to stay even longer in this area.

Follow along as Pearl and I discover all the interesting people and places in the USA.

I have to admit Washington state has surprised me with its diversity. And to stay at this National forest campground was Another Awesome find! The pictures say it all!

Well, this wasn’t really that close to Prescott but more like the middle of nowhere again. Lol! It was, however, a great drive thru multiple changes in landscape. From wheat farms, to cattle ranches, to vineyards, to apple orchards, and even looking at fields and fields of what I believe were Hops. All HUGE operations!
As I crested a ‘hill’ of Apple orchards, the Lake appeared in the valley below, and there was the campground. Beautiful layout of sites with over half overlooking the water. The weather was all over the place. I arrived with temps near 95 but went down to 65 at night. Next day, temps topped off at 104, then back down to the high 60s. They next dsy back to comfortable temps on the 70s but high gusty winds.

This was the first time I experienced a little illness in 4 years traveling. I believe it was a mild case of food poisoning due to a sweet potato in a breakfast scramble. But who knows. Could have been in some part due to the extreme temps. I was over it quickly and am feeling great now. I will, however, be a little more careful about how long things have been in the fridge.
This is right on the border of Idaho and Washington but technically in Idaho. What was cool was the sunken living area overlooking the lake. And I was able to tour the Dam at Albeni Falls. You never get to go inside the Dams or see the Turbines! It was an exceptional experience!

Yes I finally made it out of Montana but it was a fantastic journey and I hope to be back at least near Glacier NP again.
This lovely campground was not busy. The camp host is full of trail information and clued me into where the man who donated the land, Sam Owen was buried with his wife. Fantastic views both on the trail and at my campsite.

This was a great little park but a lot more primitive than most other State parks I’ve stayed at. With that being said, I had a great time exploring the area and enjoying the lake. The ‘beach’ was not as expected given it was all rocks but I guess when you are at the foothills of these great mountains, what can you expect.

I know you think I’m moving a little slowly across the US but it’s not a slow as these post. There’s a lot of open country and cell service can be limited.
After 3 days on the East side of Glacier, I spent a half day white water rafting and then a relaxing night at White Raven Winery in Columbia Falls Montana.
The water level was really low so only enjoyed about 6 Class 2 rapids and pulling along only twice at the very beginning. OH and we passed a wedding that took place on a bridge we went under.

I am so happy I decided to pay for this road trip instead of driving this road myself! Besides being able to look everywhere and not having to worry about where to park at each of the incredible overlooks, the information our driver Dan imparted was priceless. Again, I have way more pictures than posted but I hope you get the idea of how incredibly beautiful this park is.

Road to the Sun has only 1 switch back and a ton of curves on some pretty narrow places. I truly enjoyed the historic open roof bus and being able to see so much along the drive from East Glacier to West Glacier and back.
This is a fantastic place. I had 3 days on the East side of the park at a HipCamp spot. My host Robin was a wealth of information about the mountains and how they relate to her ancestors who some of the mountains are named after. So cool to be able to trace her history back so far. And I loved being out of the crowds that were camping inside the park. The ranch has been in her family for 6 generations since the land was dispersed to them by the government.

Two Medicine area was beautiful and I was lucky enough to get a boat tour which included a vehicle pass to get into the park. It was a great day to hike in the morning, take a short boat ride across the lake and then hike to Twin falls and back to the boat.

Next day was Road to the Sun road tour which will be in a separate post as I took way too many pictures! Lol!
After a very boring drive along highway 2, I stopped at a Dinosaur museum! Way cool! So much more information here than I expected and can put on this blog. If you are ever in the area, stop by and check it out.

I love how they named them all.
