Highland Hammock SP near Sebring, FL

I’ve stayed at this park before and I’ve enjoyed exploring the trails here. The campground itself is very big and sites are close together. I’m not sure if this is because it’s Florida’s 1st state park or it’s just been added onto over the years, and they are getting as many sites in as possible. Whatever the reason, it’s still a nice place to visit and the staff is phenomenal!

Englewood fun

It’s always fun catching up with friends from Charlevoix. The first day was some fan going out for pizza and beer. Played Shuffle board and Boci ball. We then played LRC and Farckle. I won $6.50 which paid for my ticket to participate in a poker run the next day. I collected a Full house with Three 3’s and a pair of jacks. And Won $30! After we played LRC at new friends and won $11! Stars must have been in alignment.

Ruth B. Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park near High Springs, FL

What a great little state park campground. I think there were 18 rv sites and 7 tent sites. The real draw was the natural springs. There’s multiple fresh water springs in this area. So cool! The hiking trails were very nice as well. Only drawback was no dump station in the park but I was able to use the one at O’Leno state park 15 miles away. I really enjoyed chilling out here for 4 days.

General Coffee SP, Douglas, Georgia

It was great staying here for 10 days. I loved my bother and sister in law visiting but also just time alone to walk and regroup. The trails are fantastic here, mostly flat but with so much to soak up as well. You know how much I love the swamps. The Farm here is also very cool!

General Coffee State Park, Douglas, Georgia

Another of my favorite state parks. General coffee is laid out well with 2 small campground loops and multiple trails to explore. And then there’s the farm! Always fun to see the animals.

As a bonus, my brother and sister in law came over for the weekend! Great food, fun exploring Douglas a little and lots of great food Tom cooked for us.

Sunday was an all day rain day, so they invited me over for movies. All great and we only had to get up and do some dance moves every once in awhile.

Stephen C. Foster state park near Fargo, Georgia

This is one of my favorite places. After Pearl’s extended stay at what my family jokingly refers to as The Egler resort, Pearl and I set off for South Georgia and some time in the Swamp.

I’m not sure what draws me back here but it’s a beautiful place and so very peaceful. I always enjoy my stay. A little bummed that they are closing the campground 1st of March. Hopefully they maintain the same feeling of being in the Swamp and don’t improve things too much.

Surprise visit to visit the Mother Unit

A last minute trip to the frozen tundra of Northern Michigan to visit with mom for a few days. So fun and happy to see her doing so well at 93.5 years of age.

We are blessed to also visit with our sister Beth. She does so much for mom, it was nice to treat her to lunch our first day.

Too much snow for this little car. We have been stuck twice and 1 backup down the driveway. However, the view of the bay is nice. Still hoping to see a sunset over the water.

Not much happening

Hi all, just wanted to let you know all is well with me. I’m still hanging around by my brother’s home and visiting with niece, nephew and great nieces and 1 little great nephew. They are keeping me busy! T&T and I took a stoll along the Ochlockonee River. It was so calm and peaceful! Nice walk and picnic.
