I was at this park more than a few years ago, so I wanted to revisit on my way north. It’s a great little park with a number of trails and things to do. Like boat, kayak, fish and of course hike. I, of course, took to the trails to see the Mine where they used to mine marble in the 60’s and 70’s. Then, I connected with 2 other trails for a great day spent in the woods.
It’s been a few years since I was here but it’s just as beautiful as ever. Great trails, overlooks and this time I was able to horseback ride. Then a surprise meet up with my brother and his wife. Super fun!
I always love stopping at this park. The energy is amazing and I am always blown away from the amount of work that went into creating this massive village. The only small inconvenience is the cell connection is poor. WiFi is available at the Visitors Center. I don’t mind disconnecting every once in awhile.
It was great to attend my niece’s wedding at Havana Springs event area in Havana Florida. From set up to late night visiting, everyone had a super time. All the best to you Shannon and John!! Love you both!
I have been asked to speak at this online event that is taking place in May. I’ll be talking on May 6th at 5pm Eastern standard time. This is going to be a cool event for any women looking to learn more about living this lifestyle.
Here’s the link to register and find out more about what will take place.
I have always wanted to go here and had the opportunity to do so with my sister Kathy. We had a great time wandering the paths and discovering this hidden gem in Tallahassee. Best time to see the flowers in full bloom is February thru beginning of April.
I was just here about 2 weeks ago but this trip I was able to camp with my sister Mary and her husband Dave. We were able to take their little dinghy out onto Lake Seminole each day we were here. That was fun. We also discovered a cool park along the river that had 1 remaining Indian mound.
I was able to meet up with my Sister and my brother in law here. Our original plans were changed so this was a good compromise. We had a couple of great sites and we’re able to swim, hike, grill and enjoy some fires each night. The trails here are great. Waterfall was cool but would have been better if there had been rain just before we got here. The swimming lake was refreshing and it was fun to watch the turtles.
Another nice COE campground. This was along the Alabama River and although I was planning on taking the paddle board out, too many snakes and Gators to contend with. It was a nice walk to the dam and a second boat ramp on the low side of the river. Great neighbors and free laundry. Life is Good!
I have stayed along the Chattahoochee River waterway and a number of COE campgrounds. Each one continues to impress me. From the site layout, space, and foliage between each site, bathhouse amenities, everything is done well. After spending time with family, this was the perfect place to recharge and relax.
